Since 2022, I have managed the social media and design for Overwatch Cavalry, growing it into the world’s largest unofficial Overwatch news account. My work covers breaking news, story updates, esports, and more, turning information into clear, engaging posts at speed. The visual identity has evolved through several iterations into a range of flexible templates that support different types of content. I write, design, and publish every post myself.

The cavalry's here
This version of Overwatch Cavalry was designed to communicate news as clearly and efficiently as possible. Flexible templates, inspired by outlets like IGN, allow text to appear across the top, bottom, sides, or centre, while the colour palette adapts to the imagery in each post to reflect the diversity and vibrancy of Overwatch. This freedom helps every update feel fresh while remaining recognisable through the Cavalry Corners™.
TALON TAKEOVER
During Talon’s takeover of the official Overwatch social channels, I created a Cavalry version to keep the excitement going. This included redesigning the logo and giving the existing templates a slightly edgier style. As a fun addition to the campaign, I also published my first articles.
holoscreen
For this earlier redesign, I wanted to reimagine Overwatch Cavalry updates as if they were being shown on a holographic screen within the Overwatch universe. Scanlines, chromatic aberration, and HUD elements helped sell that direction, while the graphics themselves became bolder and easier to read, with large headlines and most supporting detail moved into the post copy.
The initial version of this concept used a holographic screen overlay inspired by the Overwatch Story Missions UI as a text box.
INITIAL DESIGNS
The initial work focused on creating the type of graphics I wanted to see on the official channels. It gave me a foundation to explore Overwatch’s visual language before developing a more distinct identity.
reaction images
Over the years, I created a variety of reaction images for fun, giving familiar memes an Overwatch twist.
