Hi there!
I’m Reece, a self-taught Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager with 5+ years of professional experience, specialising in gaming, esports and social-first content.
I currently work at FACEIT, where I manage social media and create content for its gaming communities. I was also brought in as an Overwatch Game Expert to support the company’s partnership with Blizzard Entertainment. Beyond my core role, I collaborate across departments to shape ideas into cohesive campaigns and visual assets. This has included contributing to the creation of visual identities and lockups for tournaments, partnerships and events, as well as executing creative assets across multiple platforms for organic social, paid media and CRM campaigns. I regularly adapt these assets to various specifications, including different resolutions, aspect ratios and file types.
Recently, I led the creative direction for a major refresh of the FACEIT League’s visual identity, developing multiple concepts and ideas from the initial design brief before refining the strongest into a more elevated, cohesive and versatile design language for our social channels. Working in social media and esports has made me comfortable designing in a fast-paced environment, balancing planned campaigns with reactive opportunities and producing assets in line with the content calendar I manage.
Through Overwatch Cavalry, I combine my creative and strategic skills with a passion for Overwatch that began in 2016. I built it into the world’s largest unofficial Overwatch news account, drawing on design, copywriting, content strategy and an extensive understanding of Overwatch gameplay and lore to turn long-form updates into clear, concise and visually engaging posts. The platform has also given me room to explore gameplay capture, 3D and motion graphics. Whether I’m covering major news or spending way too long on a meme, I give each post the same care and attention to detail.
Previously, at AOE Creative, I ideated and designed graphics for the official Overwatch League social channels. Working from an established brand kit, I made templates and bespoke graphics that remained cohesive with the overall look and feel of the league’s visual identity while still finding opportunities to make each piece feel fresh. My earlier roles across the Overwatch esports ecosystem also taught me how to work with creative directors, social teams and partners, respond constructively to feedback and follow through as needed.
Studying English Literature and Language gave me a strong foundation in written and verbal communication, which I have strengthened through presenting ideas and working with teams, partners and clients. My social media experience also keeps me up to date with trends, media requirements and best practices. Having spent much of my career working remotely with North American companies and teams, I am comfortable working across regions and within any North American time zone. Outside of work, I draw inspiration from games, esports, art, music, film and pop culture.
I’m happiest when combining creativity with the games and communities I care about most!
